Faith from the Shop: After the Layoff, Before the Miracle
Posted by Crusader Munitions on May 16th 2025
Written from the bench at Crusader Munitions, in obedience and faith.
When I lost my job, I felt fear. I felt heartache. I felt betrayal.
I had given years of my life to that company. Poured myself into projects and ideas that they’re still profiting from today. And in return, I was let go — during one of the hardest economic seasons we’ve faced in years. It didn’t just hurt financially. It wounded something deeper.
It felt personal.
Wrestling with the Fear
In the days that followed, I feared the future. I feared I had failed my family. I even feared — quietly — that maybe God was punishing me.
But my wife and I prayed. We opened the Word. We sat in silence together and waited for the peace that God promises. And you know what?
That peace came.
Not because I fixed anything. Not because I landed a new job or signed a major contract. But because Scripture says:
“The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
Not a Setback — a Setup
When I turned back to my shop — Crusader Munitions — God brought more orders in that week than I had seen in weeks prior. Not by coincidence. Not by clever marketing.
But by His hand.
God reminded me that obedience matters more than urgency. That He’s still writing my story, even when I can’t see the next chapter. He didn’t take the Israelites around the Red Sea. He took them through it.
He didn’t hand Noah a boat. He told him to build it.
I believe He’s telling me the same thing.
What I’m Learning
I’m learning that being obedient is greater than being “successful.”
I’m learning that God’s love doesn’t disappear in hard seasons — in fact, it often becomes clearest in them. That’s why I’m writing this blog post. Not because I’ve made it to the other side, but because I’m choosing to trust Him in the middle.
God is in control. I’m not.
If You’re Hurting Right Now…
Please hear me:
Be still.
Have faith in the Lord.
You are not forgotten.
There are only two times in the Gospels when Jesus said He was amazed:
-
He was amazed at the lack of faith in His hometown.
-
He was amazed at the abundance of faith from a Roman soldier who believed Jesus could heal from a distance.
Jesus also said that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.
Seeds need time to grow.
They need to stay buried before they break through the surface.
So if you’re buried in stress, fear, or uncertainty — you’re not done.
You’re planted.
Keep Building Your Boat
This post isn’t about ammo. It’s about faith that holds when life shakes.
So I’ll leave you with this:
Build your boat. Trust God for the flood.
Obey in the shop. Let Him bring the blessing.
Don’t freak out. God has you. He really does.
